Yellow fever is an arbovirus (arthropod borne virus) that is most commonly reported among persons living in or traveling to countries with tropical climates where the virus is present and actively being transmitted by mosquitoes. Yellow fever is most commonly reported in South America and Africa. A vaccine is available to protect travelers from infection.
